3rd of July

It is the 3rd of July!!! Do you have any exciting plans? I am not exactly sure what we are doing. We were supposed to go out on the boat and take the baby for the first time, but Jeremy just texted me and said we are going to Channelside with one of the guys from the station and their family. Not sure what goes on there. Does anyone know? Maybe fireworks? One of my favorite holidays is 4th of July!! I can't wait to dress Jocelyn up in her red, white and blue tomorrow. I will be sure to post several pictures. :)

Jossy and I had a low key day. Jeremy was working so I ran some errunds. Jocelyn was so good the whole time we were out, but she decided to scream on the way home. However, as soon as I opened the truck door she was grinning at me. I thought it was too funny. This is what I saw:

I went to check out our plants this afternoon, and got a pleasant surprise. All of that watering has paid off. Most of them have sprouted and are growing pretty high.

On another note, Jocelyn is not sleeping through the night and I can't get her to sleep in her room. Does anyone have any suggestions?? I am dying of sleep depervation. (Not really, but I could definitely use some extra zzzzzs!)

We got a new boat!!!

We went to a boat show today and got this!!!
Just kidding! I sent my dad that as a text, and he actually believed me. I wish. This was a very nice boat. They were asking $125,000, but on a happy note, Jeremy is almost finished with his boat. Hopefully he will take Jocelyn and I out on it soon. We did however, go to the boat show. Jeremy picked up some hooks, sunglasses, and fishing flip flops. Apparently they were all great deals. According to Jeremy :). Jocelyn had a great time. Here she is chilling in her stoller.

Then we had to take care of our plants. If look very closely you can see the brocolli seedling. It is very small, but it is there. Maybe this means we will have some fresh vegetables and fruits soon.

Jeremy and I have been watering the plants twice a day. I hope they make it!! It has been so hot here. When I started up the Explorer today, it said that it was 100 degrees outside. That is crazy!!! I can't wait to go to the beach on Monday. (More to come on that soon).

Then my husband made me an amazing meal. He is a great cook. He says that he enjoys cooking, and from now on he is in charge. Jeremy has also been cleaning afterwards. I am getting very spoiled. I actually felt a little guilty because this is what his past couple of days have looked like
Thursday- 24 hour shift at the station
Friday- Paramedic School, left then worked at least 5hrs landscaping
Saturday- woke up at 5am, drove down south to do landscaping, home by 2pm, drove me and the baby to the boat show, took us to babies r us, came home, took care of the plants, cooked me dinner, cleaned the kitchen, gave the baby a bath, and finally relaxing watching "Gone Baby Gone" while I am blogging
Sunday- 24hr shift at the station
*And all the while he had a good attitude about it. I am truly BLESSED!!
Here is the homemade BBQ sauce that he made. It is very yummy! I know he puts honey, Dr. Pepper, and different types of jam in it, but besides that, he says it is a secret.

Here he is cooking. I am very surprised he let me snap this shot.

Yummy!!! Chicken and veggies on the grill.

And.... The final product. It was so yummy!!

So, do any of you have husbands that cook? If so, how did they learn and what is your favorite thing that make? Please comment. :)

4 Years!!!

Yay!!! Jeremy and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary this week. Our actual anniversary was June 24th, but we celebrated on the 23rd because Jeremy had to work on the the 24th. We had a wonderful day together. We decided to start the day out at the pool.

Jossy was sporting the sunglasses that her Nana got her :)
Jocelyn had a great time swimming with her daddy.
She starts her swimming lessons on Monday.

Then, Jeremy and I read some articles about GMOs, genetically modified foods. 80% of non organic food in our grocery stores are genetically modified. It is super scary. The chemicals and hormones they use have been linked to cancer, infertility, and other not fun stuff. I do not want to be exposed the chemicals and hormones, and I especially do not want Jocelyn in taking them. I truly believe that the things they are putting in our food are a direct result for the escalation of autism, adhd, and other disabilities and problems we have with children. For the past several months Jeremy and I have purchased organically whenever possible. We are even more committed to this, and have decided to plant our own garden.

We went to Lowes and bought lots of seeds.

Got some organic soil :)

Loaded it up in the trunk in my car.

Then we planted them all in pots. We have a pretty small yard and it is very shady. We put the plants in pots to see where they grow best. We will see how it goes. Hopefully we will get some fruits and vegetables!!!

Then, we were supposed to go out to dinner, but decided to eat at home instead. My husband has become an unbelievable cook since he started at the fire department. We had Greenwise steaks, non-genetically modified and strictly vegetarian fed, organic sweet potato fries, and organic corn on the cob. Amazing dinner to celebrate a wonderful four years!!!

Super Summer!!

I am super excited for my summer with Jocelyn! We have a lot planned, but I know it is going to be a relaxing, fun summer.

Jeremy and I anniversary is June 24th. Of course, he is working, but we have a date night planned tomorrow. More to come on that on my next post.Jocelyn will be taking swimming lessons beginning June 28th. I am super excited. She loves the water!

We are having a half birthday party for Jocelyn on July 10th. (For those of you who don't know, Jocelyn was born Dec. 30th. This is such a busy time of year with Christmas and New Years Holidays. I don't want Jocelyn to miss out on having Birthday Parties so we are celebrating her half birthday in June. She will not be having another party in December). It is a polka dot theme, and it is keeping me super busy planning for the event. I want it to be super cute.

My Roomie, Mer, is coming to visit on July 15th and I can't wait. Also, Sam flies back in that day and we will hopefully be doing some shopping before I go pick up the Stewarts at the airport. We are going to the beach the first week of August.

I am also taking an online course for my gifted endorsement.

Besides that I am FREE!!! My goal is to work out almost every day, hang out at the pool, and get a lot of really cool planning done for next year. I am super excited to be teaching 5th grade next school year, but I am totally not rushing summer.

After Christmas

We went to the mall today to take a couple of things back. While there, I had to stop by Children's Place they were having a wonderful sale. Almost everything was 50% off. Jeremy picked out these jeans and sweater. We got passed down the pink boots, and I think they will look super cute with this outfit!

I loved this dress, and couldn't resist it at $7.50. I have a pair of cream tights and a big cream bow for her to wear with it. Now I am looking for a pair of little gray boots. I think that would be sooooo cute. Anyone seen little girls boots? It is so fun to shop for Jocelyn and put together outfits. I really haven't spent much money on her because we were so fortunate to get almost everything we needed at all of our showers. So everyone once and a while I have to splurge on really cute outfits, and little girls clothes are much cheaper than adults!!

We had a wonderful Christmas!! The only thing missing was Jocelyn. Jeremy got lots of tools (that is what he told me he wanted). He was especially excited about this sander. I also got him some Sperry shoes that he was very thrilled with. He has already used it on his boat. We also got a really nice closet organizer that has made our garage so organized and a super nice set of pots and pans from his parents. Jeremy hasn't gotten to open his presents from my parents yet. We are waiting on them to get here from TN.

I was super excited about these pink rainbows that Jeremy got me. He also got me an IPOD touch, Christmas CDs, a new jewlery box, and a lap tablet for my laptop.

This table for our kitchen was our shared Christmas present. It is so nice to take food off the stove and put it right on the table. Very conveinant.

Jeremy decided he wanted to cook me breakfast for dinner tonight. It was wonderful!!! Here he is in action. He even cleaned up afterwards (usually our rule is the cook doesn't clean).

This is a picture of our wonderful spread. We had grits, toast with strawberry jam, hashbrowns, fresh strawberries, and Jeremy had eggs. We ate all of this on our new table.

*Oh, and yes mom strawberries are in season, so you need to hurry up and get here. They are wonderful. We got some homemade strawberry jam and strawberries from Brandon Farms. This is my new favor place to get strawberries. They were wonderful and the people were so nice!!
